The first image was taken at sunset, usually the ideal time for dramatic colors. Yet, that day the glowing sunset colors I hoped for just did not materialize. I returned the next morning before dawn and found the sky as seen in the second image, a much more satisfying result. Luck plays a role in capturing dramatic skies. But luck favors photographers willing to "be there" outside of normal business hours.
